Jewellery Care Instructions
It is important to take care of your jewellery to make sure they look their best for years to come. Jewellery become dirty from natural skin oils, dirt in the air, they loose their shine and become dull from interaction with oxygen. Regular cleaning and proper care will help your pieces stay whole and beautiful.
Storing

Store your jewelleries in a clean, dry place.
The best thing you can do to keep your jewelleries beautiful and shiny for a longer time is to store every piece of jewellery in a separate box department or a jewellery pouch. This helps to protect the surface of the metal from scratches and stones from getting damaged.
No direct sun exposure!
Long time sun exposure makes the jewelleries loose their shine, the surface becomes darker, dull and gets the unwanted patina. Sun exposure is also very bad for the stones because they can loose their colour and even crack.
Beauty rituals
Jewelleries go last!
Lotion, cosmetics, hairspray, perfume etc. Everything that contains chemicals has to be applied first, and only then when you are ready to go out you can put your jewelleries on.
A Goodnight care
When you take off your jewellery wipe each piece with a clean soft cloth to remove oils and perspiration.
Never!
Never wear jewellery when you sleep.
Never wear jewellery when doing physical work such as housekeeping, gardening or exercise.
Never expose jewellery to household cleaning products.
Never expose jewellery to chlorine swimming pools or hot tubs.
Never let children play with your jewelleries.

Polishing And Cleaning
I've written these instructions to help you clean and polish your jewellery. Hope you will find them useful and easy to follow.
Polishing
Over time all jewelleries become dark and loose their shine due to oxidation. Whether you wear your jewellery every day or just store it in the box. Oxidation is a natural process and happens to all metal alloys that contain copper.
When you buy a piece of jewellery at my shop you will receive a professional polishing cloth as a gift from me. It is a long lasting cloth impregnated with a gentle micro-abrasive. You can use it to polish your pieces but there are some details that you should remember:
It is recommended to wear silicon gloves when using the polishing cloth.
Use the dry polishing cloth on a dry piece of jewellery.
Hold the jewellery firmly in one hand while carefully rubbing the polishing cloth over all surfaces of the jewellery. Allow the cloth to fit into the natural grooves of the jewellery. Continue rubbing until the jewellery gets a sparkling shine.
When you are happy with the result, wash your jewellery in warm soapy water. You can use a very soft paint brush to clean the hard to reach areas.
Rinse your jewellery thoroughly in clean water at room temperature and hang it somewhere to dry. I recommend using distilled water because it doesn't leave any stains on the surface when the jewellery dries out. Do not use papers or kitchen towels to help it dry because silver is a soft metal and can be easily scratched.
Hair driers are not recommended but if you have no time you could use a hair drier and blow soft cold air at your jewellery. NEVER ever blow hot air because the stones might crack from the heat or even the temperature changes.
Cleaning
If your jewellery is old or you wear it every day and it has a lot of dirt in its crevices I'd recommend you to give it to a professional jewelleer to clean, especially if there are gemstones.
The jewelleries that have no gemstones can be easily cleaned at home.
You will need:
water (preferably distilled water);
dishwashing soap;
ammonia;
the softest paint brush you can find in the stores made from natural hair.
Put your jewellery in a small metal pot or a cup, pour 1/4 water and add a little bit of dish washing soap and a few drops of ammonia.
Put the pot/cup on the lowest flame and wait until it starts boiling.
ATTENTION! Keep an eye on the pot because when this solution starts boiling it will quickly go up, like milk. The moment foam starts to go up switch off the gas.
Let the jewellery sit in there for a few more minutes (7-10 min.).
Carefully take your piece out of the pot and gently brush the surface to make the soap foam.
Rinse your clean jewellery in warm water and hang it to dry.
Thank you very much for your support. I hope my jewelleries will keep you happy for a long long time.
Take care!
